French Tiny-House

An artist's tiny home in Les Sables d'Olonne, France was in desperate need of some major renovations, organizational solutions and a design plan. This two story, 52m home was once a grange for farm material stocking. And although it was run down and in need of a lot of work, the home itself was oozing with charm, with a wood beam ceiling and very old stone walls.
The downstairs was entirely gutted, a new entrance was created by opening the outside laundry room up, new windows were installed, a small wall was added to create the kitchen, the kitchen was created from scratch, new plumbing and electrical work, travertine flooring, a half bath added to the tiny area under the stairs, and a huge paint job.
The goal in the design was to showcase the artist's paintings and antiques, while optimizing the living space to be beautiful and very functional. The home is now a cozy and romantic sanctuary, with an art studio zone added to her bedroom and thoughtfully created spaces.
